Questions that need to be
asked.
Why is it that Best Buy
does not have all of it's stores staffed by A+ certified
technicians? Could it be money? If you show up to your local
Best Buy just before the doors open you can see the
employees arrive for work. Would you expect to see a lot of
limousines?.
If you take your equipment in to be fixed or upgraded, be
it a computer,VCR,Camcorder,TV,Boom Box, Printer,Scanner et
al. How can you find out if the people who are going to work
on your stuff are competent to do so, if nobody will release
any paperwork saying so?
Do you think that if Best Buy
had certified technicians they would say so and be able to
back up their word with some kind of paper work? Would you
bet that both Myra and Pattye have their law degrees stuck
up in some prominent spot in their offices?
The Performance Service Plan it
takes up a lot of space saying what it won't do. What does
it do for you that your home owners policy or the
manufactures warranty won't do? When I bought my computer
from Best Buy I paid the $129.99 for the Four Year
Performance Service Plan. Just because it seemed like a good
idea to have a No Lemon policy on such an expensive piece of
equipment. Recently I began to wonder. I wrote to the
address on the plan and asked them.
That was on 5/28/98. If I ever do hear back from them I will
post the response on the Up Dates Page. Should I hold my
breath?
Why
is Best Buy' Consumer Relations Department staffed by
attorneys?
Why doesn't the Best Buy web site have an E-Mail link to the
Consumer Relations Department?
The future holds an explosion in computer sales. Do you
suppose that Best Buy is, even now, training technicians to
handle it?
